Gibsonia, Pa. (Richland Township), Oct. 12, 2005 - Johnny Angel & The Halos present their classic Christmas production. This show has been a huge success for many years and has played the top venues on the East Coast. The Kean Theatre, located at 5847 Meridian Road, will host this Pittsburgh tradition on Saturday, Dec. 10. The box office and backstage bar will open at 7 p.m. and the band will take the stage at 8 p.m. Tickets are $29, available by calling 724-444-5326 or by visiting www.keantheatre.com.
Johnny Angel & The Halos trace their history back more than 30 years and have worked with legends such as Frankie Valli, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ray Charles. Comprised of seven gifted singers/musicians the band is known for its magnificent harmonies and entertaining performances. The Kean Theatre's intimate 350-seat setting guarantees each audience member the chance to see this Pittsburgh tradition up close.
"The Halos Christmas Show is unique," says Johnny Angel, lead singer who also plays drums and percussion. "It's a flashback of Christmas from the '50s, we tell stories and tie in the festive season." The performance will feature holiday hits from the '50s through the present, including standards plus some of the newer Christmas songs. Both Johnny and the band members agree that some of the greatest music ever written is Christmas music, and as members of the Pittsburgh Doo-Wop Choir they will also incorporate church songs.
The show is sponsored by Butler County Radio Network, a Tony sponsor of the Kean Theatre.
The Kean Theatre is open to the public and has built a reputation for its convenient location, free parking, quality entertainment and elegant setting. The theatre is operated by St. Barnabas Charities, the fund-raising arm of St. Barnabas Health System.
