'Murder Most Fowl' Murder Mystery Takes Stage at Kean Theatre
Gibsonia, Pa. - Sept. 8, 2006 - The Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road, is launching a new effort this Halloween season with the debut of a murder mystery dinner theatre. "Murder Most Fowl" will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28 in the Mount Vernon Restaurant located in The Washington Place, just down the hall from the Kean Theatre. Tickets are $20, available by calling 724-444-KEAN (5326) or by visiting www.keantheatre.com. Proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund, which in 2005 alone provided more than $6.29 million to patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas who would not otherwise be able to afford their care.
"Murder mysteries are increasing in popularity and for good reason," said Tom Madden, managing director of the Kean Theatre. "There's a high degree of audience participation, spontaneity and just general hilarity. We figured Halloween was the right time to try this and tickets are going fast."
Audience members are invited to the Kean Theatre for an enjoyable evening, including an excellent meal. While they're seated at the Mount Vernon Restaurant, something goes wrong. There are arguments at dinner, accusations of infidelity, and a little bit of chaos. The audience files into the theatre, the play begins. Suddenly, shots are fired. There's a murder at the Kean and the audience is invited to solve the mystery in this night of nonsensical fun.
"Murder Most Fowl" is sponsored by UPMC Health Plan, an Oscar-level sponsor of the Kean Theatre. Also sponsoring the show are Armstrong, a Grammy-level sponsor; North Pittsburgh Telephone Co., an Emmy-level sponsor; and Butler County Radio Network, a Tony-level sponsor.
The Kean Theatre is open to the public and has built a reputation for its convenient location, free parking, quality entertainment and elegant setting. The theatre is operated by St. Barnabas Charities, the fund-raising arm of St. Barnabas Health System. The Health System also includes St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas, The Arbors at St. Barnabas, The Village at St. Barnabas, The Woodlands at St. Barnabas, The Washington Place at St. Barnabas, and St. Barnabas Medical Center. Theatre proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.
