Trustees Re-elected for Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas


Gibsonia, Pa. - March 20, 2007 - The board of trustees for Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas has been re-elected. Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas is a 47-bed skilled nursing facility located in Valencia borough, Butler County, which operates as a subsidiary corporation of St. Barnabas Health System. Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas offers state-of-the-art nursing care, including rehabilitative therapy and extensive medical treatment. Because of the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund, patients unable to pay for their care are never denied treatment.

Serving as trustees are:

  • Harry G. Austin III of Wexford, chairman. Austin is president of the James Austin Company, a fourth-generation family company that manufactures a wide variety of household and institutional cleaning products. He has worked for the company since 1975, first working in the plant before moving into corporate positions. A graduate of Bucknell University, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1979 until 1988. He is a director of the Mars National Bank and former trustee of Randolph-Macon Academy and former director of the Bucknell Alumni Association Board. He is also a member of St. Barnabas Charities' Community Advisory Committee and is involved with several other community organizations.
  • Karen Tabacchi of Jefferson Township, president. TTabacchi is Senior Vice President of St. Barnabas Health System and President of St. Barnabas Clinical Services and is responsible for overseeing the operations, personnel and administrative decisions of St. Barnabas Medical Center, St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas. A registered nurse, she is a graduate of the Nursing School of Allegheny Community College and holds a degree in business administration from LaRoche College. She has been employed by St. Barnabas for 19 years.
  • Shelly Jenkins of Ohio Township, secretary. A licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Jenkins is administrator of St. Barnabas Nursing Home and is responsible for overseeing all departments of the nursing home from nursing to maintenance as well as ensuring that the nursing home is in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. She holds an associate's degree in nursing from the Community College of Allegheny County and has been with St. Barnabas for 15 years, first serving as a unit supervisor.
  • J. Victor Conrad of Cranberry Township, treasurer. Conrad is the founder of PINNACLE Financial Strategies, Wexford, a financial services firm that provides coordinated financial solutions related to investment and risk management. Prior to founding PINNACLE, we worked for a "Big Eight" international accounting firm as well as a local regional bank. He has served on several committees for St. Barnabas as well as local accounting and financial planning associations. Conrad holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a CPA and a licensed CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.
